On Friday, former president Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the recent riots in Atlanta, suggesting that far-left prosecutors will likely fail to hand down adequate punishments to their ideological comrades who took part in the violence and destruction.

He lamented the lack of leadership that allows such events to take place, and said that he could restore law and order in America if he wins .

"The violent and vicious riots in Atlanta carried out by the anti-police radical left anarchists are an abomination, and it has to stop," Trump began. "These extremists smashed windows, set fire to a police cruiser, destroyed businesses, laid waste to downtown Atlanta, and were even found carrying explosives. They to kill people, they didn't quite have that opportunity, but they would have and they wouldn't have lost any sleep over it."

"Unfortunately," Trump continued, "nothing will happen to most of these rioters because of the Marxist prosecutors who have seized control of the justice system in Atlanta, just like they are in New York, just like they have in other places."

He lamented the fact that "as always, it's hard-working, law-abiding citizens of all backgrounds who pay the price for this violent radical left extremism, sponsored by George Soros it seems."

Trump went on to state that those who took part "should be punished to the full extent of the law," and vowed to ensure that happened if he was re-elected.

"If Marxist prosecutors betray their oaths and refuse to protect their citizens," he warned, "I will not hesitate to send in federal law enforcement to restore peace and public safety."

Slamming Democrats for failing to handle rampant levels of crime, Trump said, "We've never seen anything like is happening right now. Crime is up by 50, 60, 70, and 100 percent in these radical left, Democrat-run cities. We can't let it happen. Our country is going to hell. We're gonna make America great again."

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr shared Trump's sentiments, and promised to ensure that those who took part in the riots were adequately punished.

"This isn't Oregon, we're not Washington, we're not New York or California. If you come here, if you commit violent acts against our citizens, against law enforcement officers, we're going to hold you accountable and I am proud that our office is taking the lead," Carr said.
