In an interview on The View Wednesday, President Joe Biden pretended to squash a bug on the desk after Whoopi Goldberg compared 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump to a bug. Biden also

"He was like a bug, he just kept being there" Goldberg said, making a buzzing noise and mimicking a bug flying around. The camera cut to Biden, who slapped the table, getting laughter from the hosts and audience.

In another segment featuring Biden, host Joy Behar said to Biden that Trump is now “blaming rhetoric from you, that you inspired these two assassination attempts after all of the calls for violence. You know, take them out, all the rest of it. You know what it is. Don't you think that that is just unbelievable? And what do you say to that?”

“Well, I think he is the most unusual president," he said, continuing on to summarize the reasons why he ran in the 2020 election cycle. "And look, Trump is - Not a lot of social redeeming value there. "But here’s the thing. He really does not believe in democracy and the guardrails our system has set up for the abuse of power."

Trump has been the victim of two assassination attempts in just as many months. USSS did not warn Trump of an active shooter before the first attempt in July at a Butler, PA rally. Ryan Routh, a 58-year-old Democratic activist was accused of attempting to assassinate the former president in September, and was revealed that Routh had allegedly been camping out on the perimeter of the golf course where he allegedly planned to shoot Trump. Acting USSS Director Ronald Rowe went to West Palm Beach after Routh’s arrest, only to admit that the USSS had not searched the perimeter of the golf course because a golf game was not on Trump’s “official schedule.”

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has joked about killing Trump in the past. Other Democrat members of Congress have said that they will not stop calling Trump a "threat to democracy." The White House has also been called out for calling Trump a "threat."
