"Some of these criminal aliens have had final orders of removal for 30 years, but they’ve been free to terrorize Minnesotans."
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has revealed that the arrests that have been carried out by the agency in Minnesota include numerous child rapists, murderers, and other criminals. This comes as left-wing politicians have attempted to demonize the agency after an ICE agent shot a woman in Minneapolis who drove into him.
“Regardless of staged political theatrics, ICE is going to continue to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota and elsewhere,” ICE Director Todd Lyons said of the criminals arrested in a press release. “Some of these criminal aliens have had final orders of removal for 30 years, but they’ve been free to terrorize Minnesotans. ICE’s arrests prevent recidivism and make communities safer, but it feels like local politicians want to ignore that part and drum up discontent rather than protect their own constituents.”
Some of those arrested in Minnesota have included Hernan Cortes-Valencia, who has been convicted of sexually assaulting a child, sexual assault-carnal abuse, as well as four DUIs. Cortes-Valencia is from Mexico, and had a final order of removal on Dec. 1, 2016.

He has been convicted of strongarm sodomy of a boy, strongarm sodomy of a girl, a separate aggravated sex offense, nine charges of larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle, four fraud counts, vehicle theft, two counts of drug possession, obstructing justice, possession of stolen property, receiving stolen property, burglary and check forgery. Other charges against Phaivan are still pending, including for receiving stolen property as well as burglary.

His final order of removal was Oct. 16, 2012.

In total, the Department of Homeland Security highlighted 19 cases of the "worst of the worst" that were detained in Minnesota. This comes after there was a viral report from Nick Shirley concerning fraud in the state, with much of it allegedly linked to the Somali community. Although many of those in the state's Somli community were born in the US, some of the 19 criminal illegal immigrants highlighted by ICE include multiple people from Somalia.
"Abdirashid Adosh Elmi, a criminal illegal alien from Somalia who’s been convicted of homicide," ICE's press release stated with a mugshot of Elmi.
