Professional wrestler Stuart Smith, known as "Syko Stu," is in "stable but in critical" condition.
Jackson is the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Footage from Kick showed the younger Jackson interrupt a match of the "Knox Experience" show, affiliated with the WWE, and body-slam Smith to the ground, where he then laid motionless. Despite Smith being knocked unconscious, Jackson repeatedly punched Smith's head with closed fists until other wrestlers pulled him off of Smith's body.
The incident is now under police investigation, according to TMZ.
Blood was seen dripping from Smith's face after the punches were thrown, as he laid motionless in the ring as other wrestlers restrained Jackson from causing more injury. Smith's brother, Andrew Smith, posted on Sunday to Facebook, "He's currently stable but in critical care. At this time we're focused on his recovery and appreciate all the support. Also we currently do not have a GoFundMe set up, any links posted are not affiliated with us."
Smith was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. On Sunday, he was conscious and talking but had broken bones in his face and had "lost a lot of teeth," wrestler Douglas Malo told reporters.
"What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith," KnokX Pro Wrestling said on social media. "This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred."
