President Donald Trump and his incoming staff are in the process of firing over a thousand staffers appointed by the former outgoing Biden administration as the 47th President takes office. This comes after Trump signed dozens of executive orders on Monday, with some dealing with staffing of the executive branch and getting rid of DEI-related positions as well.

Trump posted on Truth Social early Tuesday morning, "Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again."

"Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more, coming soon: Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council—YOU’RE FIRED!" Trump added.

In some of his executive orders, Trump said he would be reforming the federal hiring process by "restoring merit to government service" and getting rid of DEI. "By making our recruitment and hiring processes more efficient and focused on serving the Nation, we will ensure that the Federal workforce is prepared to help achieve American greatness, and attracts the talent necessary to serve our citizens effectively," a release about one executive order stated.

Prior to coming into office, Trump appointed Elon Musk as well as well as Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the recently formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), in order to also cut costs with staffing and other aspects in the federal government.
