Biden's border crisis has claimed yet another life, this time that of a 3-year-old boy. The toddler was swept away by the strong currents as he and his family attempted to cross the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass, Texas earlier this week.

First responders attempted to revive the boy, but it was too late. He was declared dead at a nearby hospital.

According to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, less than a week after a 10-year-old from Honduras was separated from his mother and dragged under the water.

He added that it had not occurred near any of the controversial razor buoys that the Texas government had installed on the river to deter migrants.

No further information regarding the child's name, nationality, or immigration status has been revealed since.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Chris Olivares called the drowning "another senseless tragedy," and placed the blame squarely at the feet of the Biden administration's "absence in discouraging unlawful border crossings between the ports of entry & lack of implementing preventive measures."

As the Daily Mail reports, an estimated 4,000 migrants attempted to cross from Mexico into the United States via Eagle Pass on Wednesday. They were prevented from entering, and ordered instead to camp under the Camino Real International Bridge.

The massive influx of people has overwhelmed the small town of Eagle Pass, and prompted Mayor Rolando Salinas to sign an Emergency Declaration requesting financial resources.

"The City of Eagle Pass is committed to the safety and well being of our local citizens," Salinas said, ruling out the possibility of using the city's budget to house the thousands of migrants huddled under the bridge.

On Thursday, Texas governor Greg Abbott reiterated his declaration of an "invasion" at the southern border, and slammed the Biden administration for failing to protect its borders.

Abbott went on to announce that he had "immediately deployed more Texas National Guard to repel illegal crossings & install more razor wire."
