Benjamin Hanil Song, an Antifa-linked suspect accused of carrying out an ambush shooting attack outside the ICE Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, has been captured by authorities.

Song, 32, of Dallas was on the run after allegedly shooting up an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas with others in an Antifa cell. He has now been captured by the FBI.

The FBI in Dallas wrote, "FBI Dallas safely apprehended Benjamin Song this afternoon in Dallas. Thank you to all of our law enforcement partners for aiding us in this search and apprehension. His arrest is the result of our determination to protect not only the community, but also our law enforcement partners that were the targets of a coordinated attack."

Up to 14 people have been charged in connection to the attack on the officers, per WFAA. Song has been charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder, aiding in the commission of terrorism, as well as engaging in organized criminal activity. He is also accused of having bought four of the guns that were used in connection with the shooting attack.

On July 4, federal officers were lured into an area near the ICE facility and were then fired upon by a group of militants dressed in black and heavily armed. One officer was shot in the neck, but was able to survive the ordeal.

The FBI believed that after the shooting, Song hid in the woods for 24 hours before escaping the scene. The agency had been offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to arrest before he was detained. John Phillip Thomas and Lynette Read Sharp were also alleged accomplices in helping Song evade authorities after the attack on the officers.

According to police, Thomas said in law enforcement interviews that he helped to transport Song from home to home in the area after shooting took place.

Song has previously been named a defendant in a lawsuit filed at after an assault at a "family friendly" drag show in 2023. Song, along with Samuel Fowlkes, Christopher Guillott, and Meghan Grant were among members of the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club, who were arrested in connection to an attack on protesters at the drag show.
