A new pro Second Amendment music video called "Triggered" performed by rapper Hi-Rez in collaboration with conservative music label Baste Records has gone viral, amassing an incredible 1 million views on X as of Tuesday after only just being released last Friday.

"Hi-Rez, the socially conscious rapper, and Baste Records celebrate a remarkable achievement as their collaboration yields impressive results. The powerful hip-hop track, 'Triggered,' has stormed the digital landscape, garnering an extraordinary 1 million views on X within a short span since its release on November 10, 2023," read a release shared by Steven Lee Rachel of Baste Records.

"This milestone not only underscores the resonance of Hi-Rez's impactful storytelling but also signals a triumph for Baste Records in their commitment to fostering a space where artists can speak freely on their politics and tackle complex societal issues. 'Triggered' stands as a testament to the potency of music as a medium for exploring and engaging with sensitive topics," it continued.

"Breaking away from conventional norms in music video production, "Triggered" captivates its audience with a provocative visual narrative. By seamlessly blending imagery, incorporating footage featuring figures like Kyle Rittenhouse, the McCloskeys, and conflicts in Israel involving Hamas, the music video establishes a multimedia experience that ignites meaningful conversations."

"'Triggered' serves as a reflection of Hi-Rez's personal journey through the emotional maze following the tragic loss of his cousin in the Parkland shooting. Hi-Rez's perspective, molded by personal tragedy, not only challenges prevailing notions about gun control but also advocates for the protection of schools with weapons, echoing the security measures afforded to politicians."

Hi-Rez's song draws parallels between the political hunger for gun control in the US and historic dictators who brutally murdered mass groups of people such as Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. It also displayed images from the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots, as well as footage of brutal dictators in world history along with clips of self-defense.

"Between me and you I wish we didn’t have guns but we live in a world where we do, if she gon’ have weapons and he gon’ have weapons then I will be damned if I don’t have one too," Hi-Rez raps in the song.

Hi-Rez also acknowledges the tragic loss of his cousin in Parkland, Florida during the mass shooting that took place at Stoneman Douglas High School in February 2018.
