Canadian health magazine tells pregnant PEOPLE, not women, to get vaccinated

"In Ontario, pregnant people became eligible for the vaccine in late April," the article states.

An article by Healthing Canada says that "pregnant person[s]" should get vaccinated against COVID as soon as possible.

Throughout multiple times in the article, Healthing uses the word "people" where it should say "women," as to appease the tiny amount of self-identifying men who get pregnant and have children.

For example, the Healthing article states: "The study’s results are similar to studies involving pregnant people and the flu vaccine: it’s been demonstrated that getting the shot helps protect both parent and baby from the flu... In Ontario, pregnant people became eligible for the vaccine in late April."

The article lines up with a tweet from Canada's Chief Public Health Officer Theresa Tam made nearly on January 6, 2021, wherein she referred to pregnant women as "pregnant people" when flu.

"Pregnant people and children under 5 are at higher risk of complications from the #flu," said Tam in her tweet. "Keep everyone safe. Get the #flushot."

As reported by The Post Millennial last year: The Public Health Agency of Canada said "pregnant people" should receive a flu vaccine because during pregnancy, the body goes through changes that can affect the immune system, heart, and lungs. These changes make it tougher to fight off infections.

"Pregnant people" who receive the flu shot can pass on protection to their baby. These flu shots are important because babies younger than six months old cannot be vaccinated against the flu.
