Democrat candidate claims voting machines switched votes in uncalled Congressional race

New York Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte has already dismissed legal disputes made by Brindisi demanding a recount of the 325,000 ballots in the race.

A Democrat candidate for the House of Representatives in New York has alleged that voting machines switching votes is the reason he is trailing in the as yet uncalled election, Washington Examiner reports.

Former Democratic Congressman Anthony Brindisi is currently trailing Republican Claudia Tenney in the race to win New York's 22nd Congressional District. Trailing by a mere 122 votes, however, Brindisi's legal team is claiming that the voting machines arbitrarily switched votes to favour the Republican candidate in the district.

"In this case, there is reason to believe that voting tabulation machines misread hundreds if not thousands of valid votes as undervotes, and that these tabulation machine errors disproportionately affected Brindisi," his lawyer claimed.

Some Republicans who challenged the results of the 2020 election have alleged that voting machines operated by Dominion Voting Systems arbitrarily switched votes in favour of Joe Biden, winning him the Presidency. Dominion is currently pursuing defamation cases against some of the more high-profile allegers.

While there is no evidence backing the claims of either the national Republicans or the Brindisi campaign, only Republicans have been accused of supporting sedition for their questioning of election integrity.

Brindisi's legal team is heading to court on Friday to challenge the results, disputing the victory of his Republican opponent. They argue that Tenney should not be seated in Congress while doubts still loom over the legitimacy of the election.

New York Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte has already dismissed legal disputes made by Brindisi demanding a recount of the 325,000 ballots in the race. DelConte argued that the court cannot call a recount.

Tenney, meanwhile, has declared herself the victor in the race. "Ballots have been scrutinized and we are confident all legal votes have been counted," Tenney stated.

Brindisi's term in the district expired on Jan 3, and the seat is currently vacant until a winner can be formally declared.
