The disclosure came during meetings that took place between Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in July.
Ghislaine Maxwell reportedly told the Department of Justice during meetings in July that she never witnessed President Donald Trump engaged in any concerning behavior while she was around him, sources familiar with what Maxwell said told ABC News
The disclosure came during meetings that took place between Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, totaling nine hours over two days. The interviews were reportedly requested by Maxwell herself. Her attorney, David Oscar Markus, said Maxwell answered questions regarding “about 100 different people.”
“The deputy attorney general is seeking the truth,” Markus said after the meetings. “He asked every possible question, and he was doing an amazing job.”
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2022 on sex trafficking and other charges related to her association with Jeffrey Epstein. She was previously incarcerated in Tallahassee, Florida, but was transferred to a federal prison camp in Texas after the meetings. She is currently appealing her conviction to the Supreme Court.
The Trump administration is reportedly considering the public release of the transcript from Maxwell’s interview, according to CNN. While an audio recording of the sessions exists, it remains unclear whether it would be released along with the transcript.
Trump briefly addressed the topic during a recent interview on Newsmax when asked whether the public will learn what Maxwell said.
"I don't know, because I haven't spoken about it,” Trump said. “But [Blanche is] a very talented guy… and a very straight shooter, and I think he probably wanted to know, you know, just to get a feeling of it, because we'd like to release everything, but we don't want people to get hurt that shouldn't be hurt. And I would assume that was why he was there. I want to release everything. I just don't want people to get hurt."
