Jasmine Crockett says it would be 'karma' if she runs for Senate after Texas redistricting threatens her congressional chances

"...if you want to take my seat of 766,000 away, I feel like there has to be some karma in that to where I take your seat that is for 30 million away."

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has said that she would "strongly" consider a Senate run if the redistricting effort in Texas threatens her chances at being elected in her congressional seat. The Democrat congresswoman has previously floated the idea but has yet to solidly commit to running for Senate, but added that if she won, it would be the result of "karma."

Crockett cited the remapping as a reason she would seriously consider the Senate run when she made the comments on SiriusXM's "The Lurie Daniel Favors Show." She was asked about the prospect on the show, with Favors asking if she planned to make the jump if the redistricting impacted her House seat.

"The other option is every other day there's a poll that comes out that makes it clear that I can win the primary for the US Senate race in Texas, and I am looking, because if you want to take my seat of 766,000 away, I feel like there has to be some karma in that to where I take your seat that is for 30 million away," she said, also noting that her team has been watching for the final ruling from the courts if the redraw will go into effect.

"The primary is the primary. That's cool. But, you gotta win in general, so we are doing some testing here shortly to see if I can expand the electorate," Crockett added. She then argued that she does not put that much trust in traditional poll numbers, and said that it does not take into account voters who do not usually go to vote during elections and that the key to winning in Texas would to bring out voters who do not typically show up on Election Day.

She added that if she believes the electorate in Texas could be broadened, that would give her a chance for a Senate run, she would "strongly consider" entering the race. Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the new congressional map into law earlier this year, however, the redraw has been caught up in a legal battle after it was signed.

Wrong Jasmine Crockett it would not be karma it would be irony and that would make it comical. Ignorance is not bliss it's Jasmine Crockett.
