Pete Buttigieg SLAMMED for using taxpayer-funded private jets

The roasting took place on the Fox News show "Outnumbered," where the panel took shots at Buttigieg for his hypocritical actions.

"Shouldn't anyone who espouses that hyper-moralism in terms of environmentalism, shouldn't they be the ones who have to live the most stringent lives in terms of keeping themselves from enjoying luxuries like private plane travel," FOX Business host Kennedy asked the panel.

Buttigieg has taken at least 18 private jet flights since taking office, at the same time as being an advocate for reducing carbon emissions.

"Walk the walk, man," responded co-host Emily Compagno. "It is ridiculous to me that our tax dollars are funding for someone to travel internationally to Canada to pick up an award for advancing LGBTQ rights."

"Why then wouldn't you, in your symbolism of advancement, take a commercial airline?" she asked.

She takes aim at his holier-than-thou attitude. "That's what I can't take. I would love for my tax dollars to stop paying for their hypocrisy."

"I think he should have to ride his bicycle all across the country," Kennedy joked.

Rob Smith, president of the Douglass Society, hypothesizes that while this kind of hypocritical behaviour isn't new for political figures, that maybe Buttigieg's possible presidential aspirations are overriding his climate activism, noting that most of his flights are to key primary states like Florida, Ohio and New Hampshire.

"This is stuff that we see from the elites. You saw it with Nancy Pelosi's blowout during the lockdown, as we saw with Gavin Newsom's policies, like a $50,000 dinner," Smith explains, "But when it comes to Buttigieg, you have to be clear and understand one thing: Buttigieg wants nothing more than to be America's first gay president."

Former State Department spokesperson under Donald Trump, Morgan Ortagus, says that the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General should investigate cases like this.

"It is raising red flags that he's going to early primary states," she states, arguing that when the House GOP takes over the majority, there's no reason for an investigation to not take place.

Former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price were forced to resign after it was revealed that his flights cost taxpayers over $1 million.
