Internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data has revealed the nationalities of over 1.4 million illegal immigrants who have been ordered to be deported by an immigration judge but remain in the US without being in ICE custody.

Among these individuals, significant numbers are from Brazil, with 38,677; China, with 37,908; and Haiti, with 32,363. Other countries with notable representation include Venezuela, India, Pakistan, Mauritania, Iran, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan, per Fox News.

While these countries account for a portion of the total, the majority of those ordered deported originate from Mexico and the Northern Triangle nations of Central America, including El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. These regions are considered easier to process for deportation due to proximity and existing agreements with the United States. Specifically, 261,651 individuals from Honduras, 253,413 from Guatemala, 252,044 from Mexico, and 203,822 from El Salvador.

Additionally, the ICE data includes a list of 15 “uncooperative” countries, that largely refuse to work with the US on deportations. These include: Bhutan, Burma, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Laos, Pakistan, China, Russia, Somalia, and Venezuela.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin posted these numbers, reporting that “the data shows the number of illegal immigrants on ICE’s non detained docket w/ final orders of removal is 1,455,549 as of late November, the same number we previously reported via ICE sources.” The ICE data reported by Melugin also highlighted several reasons why ICE would be unable to deport noncitizens from the US, including if the noncitizen is granted any form of relief from deportation.

"Noncitizens may pursue a form of relief or protection from removal, which may include asylum, withholding of removal, or protection under the Convention Against Torture. If a noncitizen is granted any form of relief from removal, ICE is unable to effectuate the removal," ICE said in an accompanying note.

In a statement to Fox News, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee Mark Green (R-TN) said, “For four years, the Biden-Harris administration has hamstrung ICE’s ability to detain and remove those here illegally – even those who have been ordered to be removed by immigration judges. These devastating numbers are yet more incontrovertible proof of this reality, and should serve as a wake-up call for policymakers.”

"It is absolutely critical that Congress fully support the incoming Trump administration’s efforts to undo this damage and once again enforce our immigration laws and secure our borders.”

The numbers highlight the large task at hand for the incoming Trump administration, which has pledged to carry out mass deportations of those who are in the country illegally. Trump’s appointed Border czar Tom Homan has previously indicated that it will be the administration’s priority to go after illegal immigrants who are a public safety threat.
