A candidate for Mayor of Albuquerque New Mexico was punched by a man on Tuesday during a campaign event shortly after the man flew a drone around with a dildo attached to it.

The drone has a Twitter account called the "Dongcopter," and in recent weeks, the drone has harassed the New Mexico politician for the second time.

According to The Albuquerque Journal, Sheriff Manuel Gonzales was campaigning at Revel Entertainment Center when 20-year-old Kaelan Ashby Dreyer arrived with the Dongcopter. The drone with a dildo attached to it flew about the venue and scuffle ensued after the owner of the venue attempted to confiscate it.

When Dreyer attempted to retrieve the drone he allegedly punched the sheriff’s arm while reportedly yelling "he’s a tyrant."

"He tried to take a swing at me and he glanced across my arm," Gonzales reportedly said. "He struck me and I just took a step back. It wasn’t anything I was very concerned about. I’ve been in a lot worse situations."

The suspect was arrested on charges of petty misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, The Albuquerque Journal reports.

Gonzales held a news conference on Wednesday and accused Dreyer and his accomplices of acting on behalf of incumbent Mayor Tim Keller, a rival Democrat.

"It was a coordinated effort, very intentional, and these people were trained," the candidate reportedly said.

"I was trying to answer one of the lady’s questions that was with this group of four that were political operatives for somebody, I believe possibly the other campaign," Sheriff Gonzales continued.

Keller’s campaign fired back at the accusations and said they had no involvement in the "disruptive, rude and immature" stunt.

"To suggest we were behind it is pathetic and the kind of desperation that has marked Manny’s troubled campaign," Keller campaign manager Neri Holguin told The Albuquerque Journal.

The suspect in the drone incident Kaelan Ashby Dreyer slammed the accusations that he was working alongside Keller and said he’s a libertarian, while Keller’s a Democrat.

"Manny Gonzales is trying to associate me with Tim Keller or radical leftist behavior," Dreyer told the paper. "I’m not a fan of Tim Keller either and identify as libertarian."

A partial video of the attack was posted to YouTube and can be seen here.
