"Ozzy was amazing. He was an amazing guy. I’ve met him a few times and I want to tell you, he was unique in every way and talented. So I just wanted to wish you the best and it’s a tough thing."
On the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast, Jack Osbourne, son of Sharon and Ozzy, told listeners, “I mean, should we, should we play the voicemail? Not saying who it’s from. Everyone, everyone will know.”
A voicemail was then played: “Hi Sharon, it’s Donald Trump, and I just wanted to wish you the best and the family a great. Ozzy was amazing. He was an amazing guy. I’ve met him a few times and I want to tell you, he was unique in every way and talented. So I just wanted to wish you the best and it’s a tough thing. I know how close you were and whatever I can do, take care of yourself. Say hello to the family. Thanks, bye.”
After the clip ended, Jack said, “Love him or hate him, he didn’t have to call and leave a voicemail.”
Sharon reflected on the message and her memories of Trump, saying, “Listen, when it comes to politics, we know no one comes out a winner. Whoever you like, there’s half the people that are going to go like this… more than ever, people’s choice of which party or politician, you can’t come out a winner.”
She added that her experiences working with Trump were always positive. “All I know is that a man I know, I worked with for a month, and his wife, who was always gracious, elegant, just a delight to talk to, his wife. He was always, ‘how are the children, how is Kelly, I’m so proud of Jack and Kelly.’… He was a great guy to talk to, and he has always treated me with respect.”
Ozzy Osbourne died in July at age 76, weeks after performing his farewell concert in Birmingham, England, the city where he was born. His family said he passed away “surrounded by love.”
Osbourne, known as the “Prince of Darkness,” was a heavy metal pioneer with Black Sabbath before launching a massively successful solo career with hits like Crazy Train, Iron Man, and Paranoid.
He was inducted into both the UK Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
