Gabbard was a longtime Democrat congresswoman.
Former Hawaii Democrat Representative Tulsi Gabbard tore into President Joe Biden and his administration for "politicizing the Department of Justice" and using the "state security apparatus to go after political opponents" such as former President Donald Trump.
In a video from an interview posted to Gabbard's X profile, she said that the Biden administration is threatening the state of our democracy by engaging in moves to punish the former president.
In a caption posted with the video, Gabbard said, "A death rattle of any democracy is when a sitting president uses the state security apparatus to go after political opponents and cover up lies and crimes committed by himself or his family."
She stated that Biden has made it clear through his actions that he "believes himself to be not the enforcer of the rule of law but the exception to it."
Asked about Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings and if the president was involved, Gabbard, said that it seems he was "given the evidence that we are seeing."
She added that it sickens her to see some of her previous Democrat colleagues defending the Biden administration given its actions going after Trump as well as defending Hunter.
Joe Biden's son, according to testimony from one of first son Hunter Biden's former associates, Devon Archer, had been placed on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, to "legally" intimidate people.
When Biden was Vice President, he made several calls to Hunter during dinners with Burisma associates and foreign oligarchs. These people that Hunter interacted with, according to the Congressional Oversight Committee on the Biden Family, eventually paid Hunter and his business partners around $20 million.
Hunter and other Biden family members have historically been given leeway when it comes to plea deals in regard to criminal activity.
Trump, on the other hand, is now facing four indictments for the oncoming 2024 election - a never-before-seen action taken against a former president of the United States.
Trump and other supporters of the former president have referred to scrutiny of him and the defense of Hunter from the Biden administration as part of a "two-tier" system of justice.
