Confrontations broke out at the Century City Shopping Center in Los Angeles, California over the issue of face mask wearing as as anti-mask protesters took to the mall to demonstrate on Sunday.
Protestors and those who opposed them could be seen on camera recording each other, with pro-mask advocates pleading with anti-mask protestors to wear the face coverings.
In some cases, physical brawls broke out, although nobody was seriously injured.
In another video, protestors and those who oppose them could be heard yelling at each other to "get the f*ck out of here" while one anti-mask protestors told a woman wearing a face mask to "go to China."
"This is America, you cannot tell us what to do," one of the anti-maskers states.
Another anti-mask protester insisted that he was safe because he tested negative, and called a shopper who opposed his decision "a mask Nazi."
The protesters eventually continued on to another store, Bloomingdales, where they chanted "no more masks" repeatedly.
Another protester can be seen in an argument with a mall employee who insisted the protestor had no right to be there. The anti-mask protestor questioned the employee on whether he was concerned about losing his job, a predicament which has affected millions of Americans since the beginning of the pandemic.
One person, Shiva Bagheri, was reportedly detained by police in connection with altercations which took place at the shopping centre. It is unclear whether any other protesters were detained.
