The Women's March announced it would be holding a "moment of silence" each week to mourn the Trump administration and the "suffering" it has allegedly caused to the world. The silence will be held every Wednesday at 12:53 pm, a time that was specifically selected because "that's the moment January 6 rioters first crossed the barricades," according to a news release.

The weekly demonstration titled, "Minute US," is in partnership with Choose Democracy, a far-left organization dedicated to "resisting" President Donald Trump and his administration. The first moment of silence will be held this coming Wednesday.

"Tomorrow, we pause. We grieve. We stay in motion. We resist," the Women's March said. "So much harm is being done - to our communities, our democracy, and people across the globe. We cannot look away."

"That's why, starting this Wednesday, we're joining our friends at Choose Democracy for Minute US - a weekly moment of silence to honor those suffering under this administration and the destruction it's causing," the group continued. "Every Wednesday at 12:53 pm, we take a minute to reflect, meditate, or simply bear witness."

The group explained that the time 12:53 pm was selected because "that's the moment January 6th rioters first crossed the barricades - and when the world's three richest men sat at Trump's inauguration. This action is about recognizing where we are and refusing to be numb to it."

The "destruction" referenced by the Women's March in relation to President Trump and his second administration remains unclear. The group did not provide any examples in the press release.

The Women's March was established during the inaugural term of President Trump's administration, primarily to advocate for abortion rights. The group is most famous for its marchers wearing "pink pussy hats." Although the organization remains intact, the principal march has been rebranded as the People's March, which embodies progressive ideals.

The moment of silence follows President Trump granting approximately 1500 pardons and commutations for individuals convicted and/or charged with crimes related to the January 6 riot at the US Capitol in 2021. Additionally, the Trump Department of Justice recently moved to terminate US prosecutors assigned to January 6 cases.
