"Send me to Congress so that I can support this right."
On Friday, President Biden forgot he was running for president and vowed to restore Roe v. Wade when he is elected "to Congress."
In a speech in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, the president said, "Pennsylvania, I have a message for you." He added, "Send me to Congress so that I can support this right."
"I promise you," Biden continued. "We take back Congress, we will restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land." In response to Biden's State of the Union address, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to take shots at the speech. "The Story is that he got through it, he's still breathing, and they didn't have to carry him out in a straight jacket," he said. "Other than that he did not do a very good job," Trump concluded. Earlier this week, President Biden falsely claimed that he had won the last five polls "in a row." Biden did win a Morning Consult Poll by one point against Trump, but of the last five polls reported by Real Clear Politics Trump was beating Biden in three of them, while 538 had Trump winning two with another ending in a tie. A recent New York Times and Siena poll showed President Biden losing support among the Hispanic and Black communities. Trump received 46 percent of the registered Hispanic vote polled, compared to Biden's 40 percent. Among the black community, only 4 percent of respondents said they voted for Trump in 2020, while 23 percent of those polled said they would vote for him in 2024. The same poll showed that if the election were held today, former President Trump would beat President Biden by 5 points. Trump would earn 48 percent of the vote to 43 percent for Biden. A recent Bloomberg Poll also showed the former President winning in seven key swing states. In Pennsylvania, it showed Trump holding a 6-point edge over Biden.
