Actor Charlie Sheen has backed political commentator Benny Johnson's fundraiser to help Holly, the woman who was beaten by a mob in Cincinnati. A video of the attack went viral, sparking support for the woman as well as a man who was also beaten in the attack.

Sheen donated $1,000 to the fundraiser set up by Johnson and dedicated to Holly, writing with his donation, "Hi Holly. both of my parents are from Ohio. i'm a lifelong Reds fan and I also played for the Indians in a film years ago. My Ohio connections run deep, and what happened to you will NOT be tolerated by the 'true' Ohioans (like yourself), as justice will reign supreme. heal well, young lady, and know that we are all rooting for you!"

Johnson posted a screenshot of the donation from Sheen and wrote, "Moved by Holly’s story, actor Charlie Sheen has personally and generously donated to her recovery. To Charlie Sheen, and to the thousands who’ve stood with Holly, thank you. You’re saving a life."

Sheen posted in response, "Benny! I was merely following your gracious lead! The speed at which you and Sen Moreno hatched the donation plan, was stunning and compassionate and as patriotic as it gets. You both reminded all of us of the America we remain proud to call - home. Keep up the great work, and to Holly, 'we' have your six." As of Tuesday morning, the fundraiser has received over $470,000 in donations.

In late July, a mob of minority individuals was seen in a viral video from Cincinnati attacking a white man, kicking and stomping on him after throwing him to the ground. Holly, a woman, tried to intervene, but was then beaten and sucker punched, falling to the ground and losing consciousness.

Pictures of her injuries after the event showed that she had a busted lip, large black eye, and swelling around her face and neck. Five people have been charged in the incident and have all been arrested, including 38-year-old Patrick Rosemond, 34-year-old Montianez Merriweather, 24-year-old Dekyra Vernon, 39-year-old Jermaine Matthews, and 37-year-old Dominique Kittle.
