DNA that positively matches Tyler Robinson has been found where Charlie Kirk's assassin hid as well as stashed the reported murder weapon. FBI Director Kash Patel announced the revelations on Monday.

“I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA from the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody,” Patel told

DNA was also found on the bolt-action rifle authorities believe was used in the killing of Kirk. Messages between Robinson as well as Lance Twiggs, the man who identifies as transgender and in a romantic relationship with Robinson, also referenced a drop-off point for the rifle as well as engraving bullets.

Ammo was found with the rifle believed to have been used in the assassination with inscribed writings on the bullet casings, including the phrases "Hey fascist! Catch!" as well as the lyrics of "Bella Ciao," an Antifa-linked song.

In addition to the DNA, Patel said that Robinson wrote a note found in Twiggs and Robinson's housing that said the suspect would try to "take out" Kirk. “He claimed that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for," Patel told Fox News.

Robinson was taken into custody on Thursday night and has been charged with Kirk's murder in addition to several other counts. With DNA directly linking Robinson to the reported murder weapon, it will likely be difficult for him to mount any type of defense in court. The suspect is slated to appear in court on Tuesday.
