Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated publicly at Utah Valley University on September 10. After the FBI released footage of the suspect, his father recognized him and encouraged him to turn himself in. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, 22, did not do so, but did surrender to US Marshals after they were called.

Robinson has been charged in the first degree over that killing. While authorities work to uncover the official motivation of the crime, much has been revealed about the leftist suspect.

Authorities, including Utah Governor Spencer Cox, have indicated that Robinson was deep in "leftist ideology." The casing of the round that was used to assassinate Charlie Kirk featured a meme that is used in online social circles involving furries as well as transgender ideology. The engravings on the bullet casing, as well as messages aligning with Antifa that were scrawled on bullets shine more light about what the motive was for Tyler Robinson to allegedly murder the political commentator and Turning Point USA founder.

“Notices bulge OwO what’s this?” was drawn onto the side of the bullet casing that was fired and recovered in a wooded area near the scene of the assassination of Kirk on Utah Valley University campus. The phrase is from a meme that is widely known in furry and pro-trans subculture spaces on the internet, according to Know Your Meme.

The first use of the phrase appeared in 2013 on DeviantArt, and in 2015, an image of two men roleplaying a furry sex scene used the phrase. That image has been uploaded to dozens of websites.

There were three other rounds that were also engraved, two of which had Antifa-linked phrases, including, “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao,” as well as “Hey fascist! Catch!” Another bullet casing stated, "If you read this, you are gay LMAO." Still another read "hey fascist, catch."

It has been revealed that Robinson's roommate, Lance Twiggs, identified as transgender, went by the name of "Luna," and was also the romantic partner of Robinson. Twiggs has also been seen in social media posts wearing furry-related clothing, such as animal ears.

It has also been revealed the Robinson grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and that many of his family members are supporters of President Donald Trump. These points have been used by left-wing media outlets and influencers to suggest that Robinson is part of the "groyper" movement, or on the far-right. However, other pieces of evidence dispute the false claim he was on the extreme right. Robinson has not been active in the faith for years, according to multiple reports, and was not acting in accordance with the faith's precepts.

Prior to the shooting, family members said that Robinson had expressed disdain for Kirk, and previously said "Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate," not your usual talking points from those on the far-right.

The New York Post also reports that Robinson had a "furry" fixation, and that his romantic partner, Twiggs, proclaimed support for President Joe Biden previously. Twiggs declared on a 2022 Reddit post, “We are riding with Biden on this glorious subreddit.”

An account on the website FurAffinity.net, which also features sexualized images of animal cartoon characters, has an account which also matches the account name used by Robinson on various different gaming platforms.

In the aftermath of the shooting, FBI and other authorities are investigating far-left groups in Utah to see if they had prior knowledge of the assassination before it took place. One group, the Armed Queers of Salt Lake City, wiped their social media in the days following the shooting. FBI Director Kash Patel also said that Robinson had left a note that stated, “I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.” The note was left in Robinson and Twiggs’ living quarters. Patel has also said that the DNA found on the towel that was wrapped around the gun allegedly used to kill Kirk matches Robinson's DNA.

President Donald Trump has called for the death penalty for Robinson. Robinson is slated to appear in court on Tuesday.
