Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris joked about killing President Donald Trump during his term in office during a 2018 appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. She also made the joke about then-Vice President Mike Pence or then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

In a segment from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, then-Sen. Kamala Harris was asked, “If you had to be stuck in an elevator with either President Trump, Mike Pence or Jeff Sessions, who would it be?”

Harris responded, “Does one of us have to come out alive?” laughing hysterically afterwards.

A 58-year-old Democratic activist is accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump with an AK-style weapon on Sunday afternoon. Trump was playing golf in West Palm Beach, FL, but the golf round was not on the GOP nominee’s public schedule.

Police arrested Routh shortly after he pointed his rifle through the fence in the vicinity of Trump while the GOP nominee was golfing at his International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service agents saw Routh and fired first, causing the suspected would-be assassin to flee. Law enforcement later apprehended Routh alive and uninjured.

Since she took up the nomination, Harris has tried to explain away radical positions she has defended in the past. Harris spent much of her debate with Donald Trump distancing herself from her near-four years as vice president with President Joe Biden and as a US Senator from California. When former President Donald Trump noted how Harris had helped to raise bail money for the rioters in Minnesota, she grimaced and vigorously shook her head. Harris did the same when Trump reminded viewers that she has also praised the defund the police movement. Harris even suggested it was Trump who wanted fewer police officers on the street.
