On Wednesday, Maryland police arrested and charged a gay Baltimore couple for possession of child pornography, per WJZ.

Authorities were alerted to the discovery after suspect Robert Sherer, 41, reportedly downloaded child pornography onto his IKEA work computer. IKEA officials in Sweden, where the company is based, notified local police about the incident, which resulted in the couple's arrest.

Robert Books, 54, who is married to Sherer, was also arrested and taken into custody after local, state, and federal authorities searched the couple's home on Tuesday and discovered child pornography on their cell phones and other devices, court documents show.

Sherer and Books lived at a home located on the 2600 block of North Calvert Street in Baltimore.

According to charging documents, Sherer worked as a senior resolutions generalist at IKEA in the White Marsh area. He allegedly downloaded child pornography onto his work computer, which flagged IKEA's network security system.

The couple has been under investigation by the Maryland Computer Crimes Unit since March.

Both Sherer and Books are in custody at the Baltimore City Detention Center. Sherer is scheduled to appear in court on May 10, while Books is set to appear on May 15.
