During a recent episode of the Barstool Sports' podcast Million Dollaz Worth of Game, rapper and actor Ice Cube spoke about his decision last year to turn down a movie role after he was told that he would need to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

A little over an hour into the episode, the topic of his movie career comes up. The hosts enquire about how that's been going for him.

"I turned down a movie cuz I didn't wanna get the motherf*ckin jab," Ice Cube told them. "I turned down 9 million."

"F*ck that jab and f*ck y'all for trying to make me get it," he said, "so I don't know how Hollywood feels about me right now."

When guest E-40 suggested that Ice Cube go through streaming services instead, Cube responds, "that's Hollywood brother. They on some sh*t but, you know, me too, I'm on some sh*t too."

"I got a lot of things up my sleeve," he said, seemingly not too worried about his film career.

A little later, Ice Cube clarified that he didn't just simply turn down the $9 million.

"Those motherf*ckers wouldn't give it to me cuz I wouldn't get the shot," he adds. "I didn't turn it down, they just didn't give it to me."

Cube was dropped from Sony's comedy "Oh Hell No" in October 2021 after producers requested that he take the COVID-19 vaccine and he refused.

Despite not getting the shot, Cube reveals that he never even caught COVID.

"I didn't catch that sh*t at all," he confirms. "Nothing. F*ck them. I didn't need that shit."

Hollywood took a hard line during the pandemic regarding the vaccine, with actors often being forced to take the shot or be fired.

Even streaming services like Netflix implemented blanket policies at the time, telling production projects that COVID shots are mandatory for all cast members and employees on sets.
