Progressive "squad" member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was busted for sharing a picture that she claimed was of “genocide in Palestine” but was actually from Syria.

Omar, who has a history of antisemitic and anti-Israel comments, retweeted a photo of seven dead children wrapped in white with the caption "CHILD GENOCIDE IN PALESTINE."

The original post claimed the children were part of the "614 Palestinian children murdered by the Israeli [IDF] forces."

However, users on X quickly pointed out that the picture was from another part of the world. X added a community note on the post stating that the picture was from a 2013 sarin gas attack in Ghouta, Syria, and not from Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists.

In response, Omar’s fellow ‘Squad’ member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) cautioned her followers about the "incredibly high" amount of misinformation on social media and encouraged her followers to "pause" and "check" for verification.

She wrote on X, "If you see a claim, photo, or video that triggers a strong emotional reaction, take a moment to pause and check for veracity/confirmation from multiple sources."

Omar undid her retweet of the photo following the backlash.

Last week, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre slammed the Jew-hating members of the far-left "Squad" for their comments on the war between Israel and Hamas terrorists as "wrong," "repugnant," and "disgraceful."
