Bevelyn Williams, a pro-life advocate, was released after President Trump signed an executive order pardoning her and 22 other pro-life activists who were convicted under the FACE Act by the Biden administration.

Williams, of Tennessee, was seen on Friday greeting her husband and child after she was released from prison. Trump pardoned 23 pro-life activists that were found charged with Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act violations. Williams was part of that group.

“I’m free!” she exclaimed as she hugged her family. Williams had been sentenced to 41 months for violating the FACE Act in 2020 by blocking an abortion clinic entrance and preventing staff from entering a Planned Parenthood in New York City. When a staff member attempted to open the door, Willians leaned against it, injuring the staff member's hand.

As Trump signed the pardons for the activists, he stated, “They should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly people. This is a great honor to sign this.”

Trump has condemned the use of the FACE Act under Biden. Earlier in January, the Thomas More Society formally requested pardons for 21 of the pro-life advocates, and argued “that these pro-life Americans are deserving of full and unconditional pardons.”

According to Life News, Erin Hawley, Senior Counsel from Alliance Defending Freedom, praised the pardon, and tore into former President Joe Biden as well, saying, "The Biden administration politicized and abused the FACE Act to target and discriminate against peaceful pro-life advocates. While they received harsh prison sentences, vandals who violently attacked pro-life pregnancy centers got off scot-free.”

Williams said her sentence was devastating for her family, “Not only is this bond extensive for the accused crime, but [Judge Jennifer Rochan] made it very clear in the courtroom that she was going to [make an] example out of me. The concern of being a young mother, and a stay-at-home mother, was completely disregarded.”
