"I just feel like there are certain spots on the Supreme Court that were illegitimately gotten for sure."
Crockett posted to her YouTube on Sunday after the Supreme Court decision came down, as well as Trump and the GOP's efforts in recent months to gain an advantage in the upcoming 2026 midterms. The House majority for the GOP now sits at 218 to 213.
"Obviously, Trump is still doing his bidding with these state Houses and state Senates and governor's mansions to try to rig the system," Crockett said in the YouTube video. "Kudos to Indiana for saying f*ck you. Kudos to California for saying we're going to fight back."
Indiana, despite being a Republican-controlled state legislature, voted against redistricting congressional lines to carve out more favorable Congressional districts in the 2026 midterms. "Definitely kudos to the Trump justice who wrote the 160-page opinion denouncing what took place in Texas and f*ck you to the Supreme Court for what they did as well as, you know, we'll see what happens in some other places," Crockett went on.
"I just feel like there are certain spots on the Supreme Court that were illegitimately gotten for sure," Crockett added. "So, I think if we're going to shore up our democracy, we have to first start by shoring up the checks and balances. And so, that starts with the Supreme Court."
In December, the Supreme Court issued an order that kept a redrawn Congressional map in Texas after Texas Governor Greg Abbott faced a legal challenge against the map. The new map in Texas also moves Crockett out of her district, likely being a driving force to have her enter her Senate bid in Texas.
In response to Texas, Governor Gavin Newson in California has pushed his own bid to counter the more right-leaning districts in Texas. The ballot initiative that passed seeks to create five more Democrat leaning seats in California. In Utah, a judge has sided with left-wing activist groups in a redraw of the congressional lines that will make one of Utah's congressional districts an all-but-certain Democrat vote in Congress. The Utah legislature has said they will appeal to the Supreme Court.
