A man has been arrested for allegedly towing an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicle in Los Angeles while agents were undertaking enforcement operations to detain an illegal immigrant TikTok influencer for DUI. The man, Bobby Nunez, faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Acting US Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli announced the arrest on Tuesday, writing, "Bobby Nunez is now under arrest for brazenly towing an ICE vehicle. He is charged with theft of government property. Apparently he thought it would be funny to interfere with our immigration enforcement operations. Now he can laugh behind bars while he faces justice. Nunez is looking at up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted."

Per Fox News’ Bill Melugin, the criminal complaint signed off on by a federal judge stated that Nunez was laughing and recording ICE agents on his phone while he towed the vehicle away. Inside the vehicle were keys, as well as a weapon inside a gun safe. Homeland Security Investigations tracked Nunez down through TikTok.

The incident occurred during the arrest of Leidy Tatiana Mafla-Martinez, a Colombian TikTok streamer who was in the country illegally, on August 15. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said, as first reported by The Post Millennial, that Martinez was arrested due to a prior DUI conviction in Los Angeles. She entered the US illegally in 2022.

During the arrest of Martinez, who had been streaming from her Tesla at the time of the arrest, McLaughlin said "an individual unlawfully towed a government police vehicle."

McLaughlin added at the time, "He mocked and videotaped ICE officers chasing after him. Secretary Noem has been clear: Anyone who seeks to impede law enforcement will be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
