On Saturday, former President Donald Trump, who is the 2024 GOP presidential frontrunner, shut down Nikki Haley's claims that Trump fears her campaign, calling his opponent a "globalist" and saying "I'm not concerned with her at all."

The comments came during an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Saturday, just days before the state's presidential primary election.

The former Republican president claims that Haley wouldn't be "good for the job" and took the time to explain why he gives his political opposition nicknames saying, "It's a very effective tool."

Fox News host Bret Baier asked Trump, "You said yesterday that she was a globalist fool. Back when she was your UN Ambassador, you did praise her quite a bit. She pushes back and refers to those time."

Trump responded, "
She is a globalist. I’ve always known that about her, and our country cannot be globalist."

"We don’t have that choice anymore. We have to take care of ourselves first. I had no wars going on. I defeated ISIS. We had peace through strength in this country. I got to know Nikki very well. Nikki was not a great negotiator. She had certain things that she was good at, but she wouldn’t be good for this job," Trump added.

Pressing Trump further, Baier asked, "
So, when she points back to you praising her and now she says that you’re using a nickname based on her given name, Nimrata, you called her 'Nimbra' in a post the other day. Why do you do that?"

Trump responded, "
Well, I do that with a lot of people. Like Hutchinson. He was polling at zero for about one year. And I called him 'Ada,' rather than Asa Hutchinson, and it just felt good to me."

"With her, it’s just something that came. It’s a little bit of a takeoff on her name, wherever she may come from. I look at her name. I look at a lot of people. You know I do a lot of names for people like 'Pocahontas.' She [Elizabeth Warren] said my mother said ‘I look like an Indian’ so I started calling her 'Pocahontas,'" said Trump.

"Some people say I’m very good at that... I have fun with it. And sometimes, to tell you the truth, it’s a very effective tool," he explained.

The Fox News host then asked the former president, "When she says you feel threatened and that’s why you do it, you say what?"

Donald Trump responded, "
Well, look. She said, 'I’d never run against him. He’s a great president and I would never run against him.' She’s way behind. I’m not concerned with her at all. I think we’re going to win very big here. We won extremely big in Iowa."

"
So paint this out. How far does this go. Where do you see it going. What happens on the trail here?" Baier asked.

Trump responded, "Well,
I hear that Ron Desanctimonius just cancelled Meet the Press. That’s a big deal. He’s cancelling everything. History says that’s usually not a good sign for a campaign. So, I see probably he’s getting out. Look he did very poorly. Although, he did much better than Nikki."
