"She appears to be nothing more than a petty, thin-skinned, petulant child."
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has reportedly banned the Daily Mail from all future campaign events following the publication's release of a report that alleges she cheated on her husband.
The Daily Mail's David Marcus responded, saying "Nikki Haley holds herself up as the adult in the room – but from this journalist's perspective, she appears to be nothing more than a petty, thin-skinned, petulant child."
According to the Daily Mail, the Haley campaign asked its reporter and photographer to leave a meet-and-greet event in New Hampshire on Friday. The publication said they were then told that the Haley campaign has made the decision to ban the Daily Mail from all future campaign events.
Chaney Denton, a spokesperson for Nikki Haley, told the reporter and photographer at the meet-and-greet located at Mary Ann's Diner in Amherst: "Daily Mail is not credentialed for any more events. I'm politely asking you to leave."
When asked if the ban was in effect for the duration of the campaign, the spokesperson told Daily Mail staff, "Yes."
In a follow-up to Daily Mail editorial, Denton explained that the outlet was banned for publishing "lies" about Haley's alleged adulterly with two men. "The initial claims were based on the sworn affidavits of Will Folks, 49, and Larry Marchant, 61," the Daily Mail reports.
A reporter who had been set to attend Haley's campaign event in Manchester on Friday night was notified that their credentials had been pulled, and that they would not be allowed in the venue.
"We apologize, but due to high volume of interest and limited space we CANNOT credential you for tonight’s event in Manchester, NH. Please do not attempt to attend, as you will be turned away at the door," the email read, according to the Daily Mail.
This comes after the outlet published an exclusive report which revealed that Haley had, in fact, allegedly cheated on her husband with both a lobbyist and a communications consultant prior to her South Carolina governorship.
"If proven true, the allegations undermine one of her key talking points – that her husband's service in the South Carolina Army National Guard is a driving force behind her run," The Daily Mail said. "'I'm doing this for my husband and his military brothers and sisters. They need to know their sacrifice matters,' Haley often says. And that's not all.
"When asked at a debate if Donald Trump had the 'character' to be elected president again, Haley said that 'moral clarity' is a prerequisite for the position," The Daily Mail continued. "You see, Missus Haley - this is a job interview. Not a coronation or a launching pad for your ambitions. If you'd like hold the same office as George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan, you'll have to face a few tough, perhaps, uncomfortable questions."
Haley repeatedly denied that she'd been unfaithful to her husband, Michael, when allegations first broke in 2010. They've now been married for 28 years, and have two children together.
