ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel featured a drag performer reading Eric Trump’s new memoir to a group of children in a segment that aired last week on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

The bit included “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestant Trixie Mattel, whose real name is Brian Firkus, reading from Trump’s “Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation.” The appearance marked the return of Kimmel’s “Drag Queen Storytime” segment, which first aired in 2023 when Mattel read Senator Ted Cruz’s “Unwoke: How to Defeat Cultural Marxism in America to children.”

During his opening monologue, Kimmel said the goal of the segment was to “build a bridge and join hands through literature,” saying that Trump’s book had received mixed reviews. “There’s one-star and five-star; there’s nothing in between,” he said. “So we asked a prominent member of the Left to read Eric Trump’s book to young people so they could decide on their own what they think about it.”

In the clip, Firkus entered a classroom dressed in drag and asked the children, “Do I scare any of you?” The children replied no, with one girl saying, “You just look amazing. Why would that be scary?”

Firkus then asked if they would like to read a book by “President Trump,” which prompted the children to respond “no.” He followed with, “What about President Trump’s least favorite son?” before reading excerpts from Under Siege.

One child interrupted after a few lines, suggesting they skip the story altogether and have lunch instead. Firkus handed the child a Lunchables before continuing the skit.

To conclude the segment, Firkus led the children outside for what he called a “special science experiment.” He placed Trump’s book into a woodchipper and said, “This might not be a great book, but it’s going to make excellent confetti,” as the children clapped.
