A third body was discovered in Lake Mead on July 25 after two other cadavres emerged this year because water levels have reached an all time low.
According to the Daily Wire, the newest body was discovered stuck in the mud at the receding shoreline around Swim Beach, a popular destination spot located north of the Hemenway Harbor Marina. Lake Mead rests on the border of Nevada and Arizona and is about 40 miles east of Las Vegas.
The New York Times reports that Lake Mead is the largest man-made reservoir in the United States and a critical source of water for 25 million people across seven states.
After the third body was found, officials closed the surrounding area and began investigating.
The National Park Service issued a statement that said, "Park rangers are on scene and have set a perimeter to recover the remains. The Clark County Medical Examiner has been contacted to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing."
According to local news the second body was a missing kayaker and was found Thursday. The 31-year-old man, Mutaz Majed Alghouleh, was caught in stormy weather Wednesday night and went under water during the tempest. He was not wearing a personal flotation device.
The first body that was found was decades old and was found in a discarded barrel. The FBI has joined local authorities into that death's investigation as it has the hallmarks of a mob killing according to ABC 7 in Chicago.
The Daily Wire reports that the shrinking water levels have also brought up a formerly submerged World War II-era Higgins landing craft.
The boat is of the kind that the US used during the storming of Normandy Beach.
