Morehouse College graduates turned their backs on President Joe Biden as he spoke to them in a commencement address over the weekend.

Video footage of the event showed various graduating students turning their back on Biden as he spoke at the historically black college.

The president made a stop at the college in Atlanta, Georgia as his support from black voters has been shrinking, with some of them going to Trump, according to recent polls. During the speech, he attempted to talk about the topic of race in America, suggesting that even if a black man loves the US, the US doesn't love him back.

"What does it mean, as we’ve heard before, to be a black man who loves his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure?" Biden asked, on a tangent discussing democracy. He also asked rhetorically, "What is democracy if black men are being killed in the street?"

He pointed to different programs he has used to push government funding to impoverished neighborhoods in order to boost the economy of minority communities. Biden also suggested that his administration is responsible for creating jobs for those in minority communities, giving the graduates “100 times more opportunities” and said that the graduates will do well in the economy.

During the address, Biden also spoke about the Israel-Hamas war in the Middle East and voiced support for a ceasefire in the region, saying, “It’s a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, that’s why I’ve called for an immediate ceasefire," according to the White House

“I know it angers and frustrates many of you, including in my family," he added as he spoke to the graduates. "Innocent Palestinians caught in the middle of all this: men, women, and children killed or displaced in despite — in desperate need of water, food, and medicine.  It’s a humanitarian crisis in Gaza," Biden stated.

A letter online from Morehouse Alumni also condemned school administrators for inviting Biden to the commencement address, according to Sky News
