Trans activist Evan Greer dragged out of Nancy Mace event while screaming about 'the lives of trans people' amid bathroom controversy

A trans activist was removed from the Project Liberty Internet Summit at Georgetown University in Washington DC after disrupting Congresswoman Nancy Mace's speaking engagement to protest the lawmaker's successful campaign to keep men out of women's restrooms on US Capitol grounds. 

Rep. Mace was speaking on stage when trans-identified male activist Evan Greer, draped in an LGBTQ+ pride progress flag, emerged from the crowd and attempted to approach the stage, only to be blocked.

"This is ridiculous. It's the day after trans day of visibility," Greer yelled at Mace. It was not the day after trans day of visibility, which actually occurs in the spring, but rather the day after trans day of remembrance. "We have had dozens of trans people die this year because of the hate and lies that you are spreading. Are you going to stand up for the lives of trans people, black and brown people? Are we fighting for justice," Greer continued to yell as security removed the activist from the hall.

Unphased by the incident, Mace fired back: "God loves him, I love him, but his penis isn't going to be in my bathroom." 

Mace wrote, "Mentally Ill Batman swooped in and came to the rescue of all people who think women don't deserve privacy."

"Raging lunatic, pretending to be female, tried to rush the stage at me just a little bit ago. All because I don’t want men watching women undress in the locker room," she added in a separate post.

Despite the ongoing threats, including death threats, Mace has remained steadfast in her mission to safeguard women's-only spaces. 

Greer wrote after the incident, "I could not sit silently by while an elected official who is spreading hate & lies that are getting trans people killed pretended to care about the future or the internet. So I spoke up during Rep Nancy Mace’s talk at the Project Liberty summit and was thrown out. I’d do it again."

This comes as Mace has been under growing criticism by Democrats for vowing to introduce a series of women's rights public safety laws, including female-only restrooms, after Sarah McBride, an incoming transgender Delaware representative, was elected to Congress earlier this month. Speaker Mike Johnson issued an order on Wednesday to keep bathrooms sex-segregated, resulting in Mace's legislation appearing to be no longer needed. The issue has sparked outrage among trans activists and progressive lawmakers. Mace is now facing threats of deadly violence.
