WATCH: Biden claims ‘trans kids’ under attack, must be protected

People took to Twitter to point out the illogicality of claiming to want to protect children while advocating for them to be sterilized and have healthy parts of their bodies amputated.

President Joe Biden spoke at the ceremony to sign the Respect for Marriage Act into law, legalizing same-sex marriage and interracial marriage, both of which were already legal in the United States. He delivered his remarks to an audience filled with pop stars and drag queens.

In his remarks, he spoke of the need to protect “trans kids” from “the hundreds of callous and cynical laws introduced in the states, targeting transgender children, terrifying families, and criminalizing doctors who give children the care they need. We have to protect these children, so they know they are loved and that we will stand up for them [until] they can speak for themselves."

"We have to speak out, we must stop the hate the violence, like we just saw in Colorado Springs, where a place of acceptance and celebration was targeted for violence and terror," Biden said, referencing a nightclub shooting allegedly committed by a nonbinary individual who who has been charged for these crimes.

Brita Filter, who performed for students at the Grace Church School in New York, was on hand to witness the signing.

The laws President Biden is referring to are those that seek to ban doctors from attempting to perform experimental sex changes on children. These laws would prevent minors from being allowed to consent to being chemically castrated by a combination of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones before they are even old enough to consent to a tattoo. Furthermore, the laws would make it illegal for surgeons to amputate the breasts of gender-confused teenage girls. These are the laws the President feels children need protecting from.

Biden went on to liken those who are campaigning to end what one pediatric neurosurgeon recently called “an extraordinary medical atrocity” to anti-semites, racists, and homophobes.

“Folks! Racism, anti-semitism, homophobia, transphobia. They’re all connected,” said Biden. “But the antidote to hate is love. This law, and the love it defends, will strike a blow against hate in all its forms. And that's why this law matters to every single American, no matter who you are or who you love. This shouldn't be about conservative or liberal, red or blue. No, this is about realizing the promise of the Declaration of Independence, a promise rooted in sacred and secular believes. A promise that we're all created equal."

People took to Twitter to point out the illogicality of claiming to want to protect children while advocating for them to be sterilized and have healthy parts of their bodies amputated.

A young woman who has spoken out about how she regrets making the decision to transition when she was younger replied to say that part of the reason she transitioned was because of homophobia.

The evidence is mounting that the type of care Biden is advocating for is doing terrible harm to the young people it seeks to help. Soon-to-be-published research reveals that the rate of detransition is rising sharply as all the young people who were sold the lie that it was possible to change sex are maturing and realizing that they have made a mistake. Malpractice lawsuits are starting in England, Australia, and the US.
